Ingredients
  

  • 200g unsweetened desiccated coconut (finely grated)
  • 180g sweetened condensed milk
  • 100g dark chocolate (85% cacao or preferred type)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional for flavor balance)

Method
 

  1. Mix desiccated coconut, sweetened condensed milk, and salt in a large bowl until a moist, cohesive mass forms.
  2. Press the mixture into a parchment-lined rectangular container to create an even layer.
  3. Refrigerate the container for 1 hour and 30 minutes to allow the mixture to solidify.
  4. Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave (20-30 second intervals) or using a double boiler until smooth and workable.
  5. Cut the solidified coconut block into 12 equal-sized bars. Dip each bar into the melted chocolate using silicone tongs until fully coated.
  6. Place the coated bars on a baking sheet and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
  7. Transfer to an airtight container and serve chilled.

Notes

Coconut mixture can be prepared a day in advance for quicker coating the next day.
Use a food processor for finer coconut texture. Adjust chocolate type (milk or white) for alternate flavor profiles.
Ensure the condensed milk is fully incorporated into the coconut for uniform moisture. Chill the mixture completely before slicing to prevent crumbling.
